My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 31 of 52
Posted by admin on
Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:
Remodel The Kitchen
The electrician was here last week for half a day working in the kitchen and will be back later this week to finish things up. Timeline wise, things are right on track.
Once the electrician is done the HH will rip out the rest of the backsplash and patch the walls and then I’ll be able to paint. He’s decided to wait until the very last second to remove the remaining countertops {and most importantly the sink {!!} until a day or two before the cabinet guys come out to do their bit {something in September}.
At least with the trim removed and the walls painted, all my kitchen tasks will be done.
Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove DONE!!!
Well I did it!!! I finally hit my goal of selling enough of my 2022 hooked rugs and pillows in my Etsy shop to pay for my new Duck Egg Blue AGA cooker.
I’ve now shifted to saving up for a “research trip” to England to find the perfect scone {so I can duplicate it in my new oven}. Maybe marmalade too.
Fill the Canning Cupboard
I made a batch of zucchini relish yesterday and today I’m planning on canning carrots in the pressure canner.
So far this year I have canned:
- Raspberry Blueberry Jam
- Carrot Cake Jam
- Strawberry Lemon Jam
- Blueberry Lime Jam
- Strawberry Jam
- Cinnamon Rhubarb Jam
- Pickled Asparagus
- Ginger Pear Jam
- Spiced Christmas Jam
- Cranberry Sauce
- Split Pea and Ham Soup
- Beef Stew
- Zucchini Relish
Not canned, but in jars:
Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.
I’ve decided to wait until fall to list my beach finds.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.
One thing I didn’t eat this past week was the mutant head of cauliflower from our garden. I don’t know what happened, but so far 4 out of 6 of the cauliflower plants look like this.
Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room.
This past week was not a good one for keeping the crafts out of the craft room. I dyed so much wool this past week that it’s all still piled up on the dining room table.
Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup {DONE}
It was a good experience, and we’re going to do it again next year {although I would like to find a few more trees to tap so our yield is a bit higher}.
Make a Quilt Top
No progress on the quilt. I still need to finish counting squares {and cutting out white ones}. It’s hard to get excited about sewing when it’s 80+ degrees outside.
Be More Intentional With My Time
One of my favorite things about summer, is heading out in the dinghy to mail packages.
It’s even more fun when The Girl goes with me and we stop for ice cream.
1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 29 craft/blog free days this year so far.}
Yesterday I stayed off the internet, which is always a good thing to do when you’re trying to get stuff done but I couldn’t stop thinking about that buoy lamp I found in Boothbay a month or two ago.
I think I need it. Or rather, I need to make one. I still don’t know where I’d put it yet though. Maybe I need to figure that part out first.
Keep My Husband Busy
The week before last the HH replaced the old can lights in the kitchen with retrofitted LED lights and this past week he was able to replace all the ones in the rest of the house {we had to order them online and wait for them to get here}.
So now it’s on to other things… Like making me some window boxes for the front of the house!
We were walking in downtown Camden a few weeks ago and spotted a window box there planted with Swiss chard, chives and a few other things. I LOVE this idea!!
The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022
- Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
-
Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyardDONE - Build a new set of stairs down to the water.
-
Fill the field {with soil} - Remodel 1 bathroom
Replace fireplace tile- Build window boxes for the front of the house
-
Build an arbor for the wisteria{We decided to move the wisteria to another location instead} -
Order 4 cords of firewood by the end of May and stack themDONE -
Sand the floors in the entire houseDONE - Install new garage door openers {new addition}
My House Projects For This Year {so far}
The window covering I ordered for the kitchen window won’t be here until probably September, so that gives me plenty of time to have the HH take down the old blind in the kitchen so I can get the window trim painted.
I suspect once that happens, since I’ll have all the paint supplies out, I’ll probably get the rest of the trim painted in the hallway and then I’ll be done with the inside bit.
As far as painting the outside of the house, the HH told me he’d finish it up for me as soon as the weather cools down a bit. Yee-Haw!
Things I need to get done this year:
- Finish painting the outside of the house
- Finish painting the inside of the house
- Make something to hang above our new console table
- Make it look like people actually live here {working on it!}
- New window treatment for the kitchen window {ordered!}
