With Mercury in Leo, Expect Something ‘Meant To Be’ To Unfold This Week

Posted by admin on

True to the 2020 astrological theme of transformation, we have yet another game-changing, dynamic, consciousness-shifting week ahead. This is a year full of hairpin turns, curveballs, and the need to step into personal sovereignty to recognize and disrupt unhealthy power dynamics—both the ones we create and those we are subject to from others. However, before we get into the details of what’s in front of us, I want you to check-in with yourself.

How are your energy levels and your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being faring? Quickly scan your mind, body, mood, and spirit, and evaluate what’s happening for you, at this moment. Ask yourself, “What do I need right now?” Give yourself time for feelings to emerge and intuitive wisdom to arrive. Amid challenging times, the body can numb out, so be patient with yourself. If you feel disconnected to your feelings, know that just because your emotions aren’t readily available doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Let them surface. Coax them if you must. Then, take action on the directives you are receiving from your body, mind, and spirit.

If you are tired, remember that there’s a reason why nap time is a cornerstone of preschool—a timeframe in developmental education when children grow daily. Sleep supports the learning process, and just like with early-childhood development, you are currently developing in ways that you never had before, and rest is essential to the growth process. Given the intensity of what we’re collectively and cosmically experiencing in 2020, it’s natural to feel fatigued; after all, this is a year with a very steep learning curve. So, take time to nap.

In the spirit of honoring the mind-body connection and identifying your body’s unique needs and language, the week ahead kicks off with the planet of communication Mercury, in Leo, connecting with the asteroid-comet hybrid (a centaur) Chiron. Chiron, the wounded healer, in Aries forms a trine to Mercury, who rules the mind. This fire trine elevates your potential for embodiment. To support you to feel more embodied and in touch with your needs, consider a bath, a long walk outdoors, going for a swim, or any activity that helps you to relax, feel, breathe, and be—and that includes sleep.

Chiron illuminates our core wounds—the wounding or pain that, no matter what we do, never completely goes away. That said, on Sunday, August 9th, when Mercury makes a manifesting and healing angle to Chiron, we can potentially gain earned insight into where we are with regards to our chronic problems, and what we need to acknowledge as we move forward on our healing path. Remember, healing doesn’t mean achieving the resolution or absolution of pain, but rather it’s the process of building the capacity to accept what is and be with it skillfully. Sunday helps you understand and integrate this wisdom.

Monday, though, Mercury moves from his trine to Chiron into his square with Uranus in Taurus, elevating tension. Mercury in Leo in a challenging angle to the planet of disruption in a fixed Earth sign asks you to use your voice. (Taurus represents the voice, after all.) If there’s an issue in your life that you need to address, you might not feel ready to say something. Doing so might feel like more labor that you, frankly, are tired of by now. Still, though, the cosmos asks you to discern what’s needed to bravely and consciously speak your truth.

Come Tuesday, we will have the waning quarter moon at 12:44 p.m., ET. At this time, the sun, at 19 degrees of Leo squares the moon at 19 degrees of Taurus. Usually, the waning quarter moon is an invitation to let go of, or surrender, what you have identified as a hindrance to your growth. However, this particular waning quarter moon is exceptionally potent and has a different flavor altogether. As the sun squares the moon, the sun also forms two quincunxes; one to Neptune and Jupiter. Since Jupiter and Neptune are in a harmonious angle known as a sextile, this combination creates a yod.

A yod forming alongside the waning quarter moon indicates that something “meant to be” will likely occur mid-week, so pay keen attention to what unfolds.

A yod is also known as a finger of God and represents a fated moment in astrology. A yod forming alongside the waning quarter moon indicates that something “meant to be” will likely occur mid-week, so pay keen attention to what unfolds. There’s the potential that something you’ve been working toward for a while now comes to fruition. Think back to May 2018. What did you begin then that’s coming full circle now? Alternatively, if something has run its course, you may experience an ending, too. If that’s the case, honor this completion. Allow it to be divinely guided (because it is, after all) and surrender what you must.

On Thursday the 13th, Mars perfects his square to Pluto. This challenging angle indicates that the universe will offer you another opportunity to recognize and disrupt dynamics stemming from unhealthy patterns. If someone uses abusive tactics with you, you will see this behavior loud and clear. Observe what is happening, pause, and listen to your inner knowing.

Consequently, this day, and the entire week, may be full of aggression, unconscious or conscious angst, and people feeling the need to dominate. Stay cautious. Drive carefully. Be mindful when engaging with volatile people and circumstances. Mars in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn, especially since he’s conjoined to Jupiter, indicates things will be overblown and maybe even dangerous. Do not rush. Resist the call of urgency. Pace yourself and go slow.

Come Friday, Mercury moves into the same place where the sun was earlier in the week, when it formed the yod with Neptune and Jupiter—meaning there’s even more fated news ahead. Trust that whatever is happening is supposed to, especially on Friday and Saturday.

Mercury in Leo asks you to own your creativity and allow yourself to shine. Mercury, at the point of this yod, means that if you didn’t get the news you were hoping for earlier in the week, things might come through by its end. Keep going; you are doing so well. Stay positive and take plenty of time to nourish your mind-body connection. It truly is essential, always, and especially now.
