MASTER BATHROOM REVEAL
Posted by admin on
Ive shared many a beauty/skincare post in this bathroom since moving in, but realized I never actually shared the details on the bathroom itself! When designing and building out my master bathroom, I knew I wanted it to be light and bright! I wanted big windows for natural light, space for a large bath and shower, and a dual vanity. I also wanted ALL the storage! I have three sets of drawers in the vanity, plus space under each sink. I also have a large linen closet with space for my laundry basket underneath, as well as a spacious cabinet above my toilet in the water closet. While I didnt have everything narrowed down, Pinterest gave me lots of inspiration to guide me in the choices I made.
Most people go with Carrera marble, but I decided to go with Mountain White. I had gone to several places in Dallas to look at a variety of marble options, but this was my favorite. While I loved the Carrera options, the Mountain White had more of a contrast lots of white, with dark grey, thin veins. The Carrera options I saw had much thicker veins of light grey, and the white wasnt as bright as this one. I just loved the steep contrast between the dark grey, bright white and bold gold of my Kohler hardware. The hardware was probably the easiest for me to pick out most options I saw were too traditional. I wanted something sleek and modern, but still very elegant. I loved the simple drawer pulls that match my faucets, and carried that look into my closet as well for a fully cohesive look.
The one thing I didnt give any thought to was the floor and shower tile. It totally slipped my mind and I was sort of rushed into making a decision the week of the install. I wished Id had a bit more time to peruse the different options of tile cuts and flooring options! I did manage to get the shower floor tiles cut into chevron, which I think could have been very cool to do throughout the bathroom again, if only Id thought about it beforehand! I learned a lot throughout the building/designing process, so next time I do something like this Ill know to come to the builder with as much decided on as possible! While Ive loved having such a bright white bathroom, I think it could have also looked great with a very soft grey paint. Either way, Ive LOVED my bathroom! This was my first house purchase and my first experience with renovating/adding on, and I certainly picked up some great info for the next time I want to do something like this! It can be overwhelming and stressful, but theres something so special about making a place your own and designing something from start to finish. Im so grateful for the opportunity to do so and for the experience/knowledge I gained throughout the process!
