Kitchen and Bath Become Practical and Luxurious

When Susan Sutter of Arlington, VA-based Susan Sutter Interiors was tasked with overseeing a kitchen and bath renovation in a 12-year-old home, there was a tight deadline looming over the project, as the family was hoping to host a large gathering for the holidays. The situation was complicated further by an expanding scope of work, including a total gut renovation of the kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom and powder room. With a to-do list that included updated décor, all new hardwood flooring throughout and new furnishings, Sutter was under the gun.

In collaboration with builders Denny & Gardner, Sutter was able to complete the project in time for the holiday celebration. The remodeled kitchen features greatly improved functionality, with increased cabinet storage, new Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer columns and double wall ovens, Wolf cooktop and hood and an enlarged island perfect for food prep and entertaining. A walnut butterfly expansion dining table and buffet from Copeland Furniture provide plenty of seating for holiday guests. A cool, fresh color palette creates a mellow backdrop for the clients’ art collection.
In the master bath, a shower with multiple body jets and a freestanding soaking tub create a spa-like experience for the homeowners.
